BB (Black Beauty)
BB, also known as Black Beauty, is our oldest and most cherished team member. He is the heart of our herd and was my daughter’s very first pony, growing alongside our family from childhood through school and home life.
He is as close to “bombproof” as you can get — calm, reliable, and steady in any situation. Over the years, BB has been everywhere: pony club, kindergarten visits, inside the house watching TV, racetracks, and even nursing homes. These experiences have made him exceptionally confident, adaptable, and trustworthy in all environments.
BB has a beautiful soul and is kind, gentle, and truly one in a million. He spends his days with his best mate, and they share a very special bond. His companion is quite dependent on him and can become unsettled when BB is away. Despite this, BB remains relaxed, confident, and reassuring.
BB loves people and genuinely enjoys interacting with everyone he meets. Always chilled, affectionate, and dependable, he brings a sense of calm, trust, and connection wherever he goes.
Patch
Patch is our beautiful, kind-hearted gelding who has played a special role in helping my eldest daughter learn to ride. He’s been one of her most challenging horses — and also one of her greatest teachers. Patch is incredibly sensitive and intuitive. He notices what’s happening around him, and he’ll often “stand up” for his rider when they need support. My daughter calls him her heart horse, and it’s easy to see why.
On the ground, Patch is a dream to be around. He enjoys attention and connection, and once he trusts you, he really opens up and shows you his gentle nature. Patch likes to interact and be included — he’s the kind of horse who meets you halfway when you approach with calmness and respect.
In his earlier years, Patch took part in activities like pony club and horse trials, and he’s experienced in a range of settings. When he came to us, he was a big challenge to take out to new places and it took time, patience, and consistency to help him feel safe and confident. Watching my daughter work through that and build a relationship with him has been incredible — her hard work has truly paid off.
Chaz (My Heart Horse)
Chaz is my heart horse in every sense of the word. I bought him so I could begin riding again and share that journey alongside my daughter. What began as a way for us to ride together quickly grew into one of the most meaningful and life-changing journeys of my life.
Before coming to us, Chaz was purchased from the Pakenham horse sales by a well-known dealer and was later sold to me as a beginner’s horse. It soon became clear that he was far more complex than he had been presented to be, and that he had been falsely sold on as a “beginner horse.” In reality, he was a sensitive, intelligent horse who required patience, understanding, and experienced handling.
Chaz was a huge challenge in the beginning. He was worried, guarded, and unsure of people. But beneath that was a deeply thoughtful and responsive horse who was waiting for someone to truly see him. With time, consistency, and trust, he began to feel safe and slowly open up.
Over time, Chaz also became part of my personal healing and spiritual practice. I often meditate with him beside me, and it was with Chaz that I first discovered how deeply I could go into meditation while feeling completely safe and grounded. When I meditate with him, I experience a sense of calm, connection, and presence that I have never been able to reach anywhere else. It is something truly unique to our bond, and it reflects the depth of trust and understanding between us.
Chaz came into my life at a time when I needed him most. During periods of loss, separation, rebuilding, and becoming sober, he was always there. When I was exhausted, overwhelmed, or at my lowest, Chaz stood beside me. He helped carry me through some of the hardest chapters of my life, without ever asking for anything in return.
We have spent countless hours together — walking, paddock time, quiet moments, and rebuilding confidence. Through it all, Chaz became my constant. He has always been steady, honest, and present, and that is why I believe he will always be the star of the show here.
Chaz is big, gentle, and full of presence. He is sensitive and not easily fooled — he reads people very quickly. If you are calm, genuine, and open, he will meet you there. If you need something from him, he feels it. Chaz has a special ability to connect with people who are ready for that kind of partnership.
He is more than just a horse to me. He is part of my healing, my journey, and my story. Chaz represents resilience, trust, and the power of quiet connection — and I am endlessly grateful for him.
